The sights:

You may want to go for a walk in the vicinity of the farm – into the old woods or down to the fjord.  You are welcome to use our rowingboat and fishing rods.  Should you catch anything we will be delighted to prepare a special dinner.  Against a small fee you are also welcome to use our canoes and kayaks.

The more active amongst you may prefer something more physically challenging.  Forging the hills and mountains above the farm might be strenuous but will be greatly awarded:  From up there you will enjoy magnificent views of the fjords – and, on a clear day, you will discern the mighty Jostedalsbreen glacier floating, as it were, in the distance.  You will probably also come across the herd of goats belonging to the farm – or a deer or two.

Day outings may also be arranged – for instance to the peaceful and nearby fjord community of Vik, the main attraction of which is the fenomenal Hopperstad stave church.  A wooden wonder of design and intricate construction it was built around 1150 AD, presenting a richly decorated interior including a well preserved alter ciborium.  The whole building is nothing but pure magic!

Before or after dinner you may just want to sit outside enjoying a glass of wine and relish the magnificent view and listen to what can best be described as the deafening silence.  And if lucky, you may spot one of the eagles nesting in the steep mountainsides towering above the farm…
